1. What does TPI stand for?
TPI stands for Tysinger Promotions, Inc. Wendy Tysinger Stallings created the business name and incorporated in 2000. Her father, Joe Tysinger, long time super stock drag racer, brought his wife, Alice, and daughter, Wendy, into the sport. They ventured most weekends to races all over the country and Wendy began assisting drivers, teams, and tracks with hospitality at various races. Soon she built a client list and began her own business. Thus the motorsports event marketing company name… Tysinger Promotions, Inc. was born.

7. How did TPI get started?
When Wendy Tysinger Stallings was at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she attended many drag racing events, as she had her whole life, cheering on her father, long time super stock racer Joe Tysinger, along with her mother Alice. Drag racing was a passion she enjoyed with her family which turned into a summer job with Roy Hill's Drag Racing School.

Upon graduation from UNC, Wendy attended the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University. While attending law school, Wendy continued to work with Roy Hill's Drag Racing School as well as worked as the event representative at drag racing events around the country for Parts Pro.

"When I graduated from law school, I thought I would try working within the motorsports industry for a year and see how I liked it before I started practicing law" said Stallings. "After a year I had three employees and a list of clients as well as having a much more exciting time than practicing law."

So, with the law degree hanging on the wall, Stallings decided to pursue her passion, event promotions with her growing business Tysinger Promotions, Inc. Which quickly became known as TPI. "When Whitney Dowdy came on board after the doors had been open for a year or so, we immediately took on the industry as a team. There is no doubt that TPI would not be where it is today if I had not had her on board" said Stallings.

After ten years, TPI has taken Stallings and her team all over the country, Canada and Europe. TPI has expanded to handling clients both inside the track and outside in corporate America. The list of TPI duties ranges from event management, a huge amount of corporate hospitality, and data capture.

And that is how TPI got started…
